About Buck & BB

Recently nominated for a GRAMMY AWARD (best Musical Album for Children); on NPR's list of TEN BEST kids' cds of 2007 Buck and BB's brand of Western Swing is ticklin' people's fancy far and wide. So where did it all start?

Buck Howdy was born wearing a cowboy hat and boots and was raised on his family's ranch in Grants Pass, Oregon.Between going to school and doing chores, like feeding 100 head of black Angus cattle, Buck taught himself to play guitar. And though the ranch was sold long ago, Buck has never stopped playing. Matter of fact, he's never stopped doing chores either. Only now he does them on his own spread (Buttercup Farm) in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.

BB, on the other hand, has been a big city girl most of her life - born and raised in the Northeast a looooong way from farms and ranches and critters! Since then she's lived in far-flung places but never far from the limelight - in tv commercials, on stage and in movies.

Buck and BB first shared the stage a few years ago at a benefit concert, which led to Buck inviting her to sing a song with him on the GIDDYUP cd. It wasn't long before they decided to try to write a few songs together - and before they knew it, they'd written a whole passel of tunes which became the foundation for the new CHICKENS cd (and a new live show featuring Buck and BB as a duo.)

Buck and BB's CHICKENS is sure to continue the award winning ways of Buck's solo releases - and no doubt Buck and BB will be turning up in some of the same places Buck has been honored to appear in the past, such as the White House and the Grand Ole Opry - and if the early acclaim for their cd as a duo is any indication, there will be many more Buck and BB cds to come!
