About Buck
Buck Howdy was recently awarded the 2010 Grammy Award for the Best Spoken Word Album for Children. He is a four-time Grammy nominee who has performed at the Grand Ole Opry and the White House as well as in hundreds of venues from coast to coast. He’s been described as “the nexus of Roy Rogers, Will Rogers and Mr. Rogers, with a little Shrek thrown in for fun.”
His Emmy Award winning music videos are seen often on Nick Jr TV. Buck has six award-winning family CDs, Skidaddle!, Giddyup!, Chickens!, Around the Campfire, Pete Seeger Tribute - Ageless Kids' Songs and his Grammy Award winner Aaaaah! Spooky Scary Stories and songs, all of which have earned him a place in the pantheon of artists creating hip recordings that appeal across the generations.
Buck Howdy was born wearing a cowboy hat and boots and was raised on his family's ranch in Grants Pass, Oregon. Between going to school and doing chores, like feeding 100 head of black Angus cattle, Buck taught himself to play guitar. And though the ranch was sold long ago, Buck has never stopped playing. Matter of fact, he's never stopped doing chores either. Only now he does them on his own spread (Buttercup Farm) in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.
